Poon Hill Trekking Route
The total distance for Poon Hill trek covers 51 Km, which can be done 4-5 days trek. Trek can be considered as a moderate, and any age group can be part of this trek. The maximum elevation of the Poon Hill 3210m. Because of the short trekking trail, you don’t need to carry a lot of equipment and 4-5 hours daily walk.
From Kathmandu to Pokhara, you can get a flight or ride a private vehicle or public. Then you will drive to Naypool and start your real journey to walk Poon hill trek. Here you will walk through green ModiKhola valley, where Banthati, you have to show your permits. The trekking trail mostly flows the dirt road until Hille passing villages, green valley, paddy fields, and so on.
Today Thikadhunga to Ulleri, you have to walk more than 3000 stone staircases. This is the hard part of the Poon hill trekking trail.
Second-day Ulleri to Ghorepani 4-5 hour walk through the dense, beautiful oak and rhododendron forests. The pleasant walk will take you to Ghorepani village.
Ghorepani is the beautiful Poon village, where you can enjoy the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Himchuli, Fishtail, and many more peaks. After breakfast in Ghorepani and continued our journey Ghandruk via Tadapani. You are also passing through the lush green forest and having an inspiring nature and mountains view along the trail.
The smooth and comfortable trekking trail takes you to the famous Gurung village Ghandruk. From the Ghandruk, you will enjoy the fantastic view of Annapurna South, Himchuli, and Fishtail mountains. Here you will experience the Gurung tradition and culture. Ghandruk is a famous village where you will have a chance to visit the Gurung museum. Then the next day is recollecting the journey and heading back to Nayapool flow the communities and Modi Khola River.
