How to Plan Your Trip

The first step is to decide when and where you want to go. If you have a specific destination in mind, it might be helpful to think about how much time you are willing to spend on the trip (or if that’s even possible). Also, what kind of vacationer are you? Do you want a relaxing stay by the beach or a fast-paced trip with a lot of museums and city sightseeing? Answering these questions will help narrow down your options.

Once you know when and where you’re going, it’s a good idea to start researching famous sights and experiences. You can find plenty of information online, on travel blogs and recommendations from locals. Try to get a feel for the attractions by looking at photos, reading descriptions and checking their location on Google Maps.

If you’re a more itinerary-oriented traveler, you can narrow down your choices and purchase tickets for attractions that require advance reservations or are popular during your desired time of year. However, don’t overdo it – trying to stick to a strict schedule can lead to burn out and prevent you from enjoying your trip as much as you could.

It’s also a good idea to let your housesitter and/or emergency contact know that you will be gone, so they can keep an eye out for any suspicious activity while you’re away. Also, don’t forget to sift through your wallet to remove loyalty cards, extra credit cards and other items you won’t need while you’re on vacation. plan your trip
